National Reviews and Multisectoral Consultations on Policy and Legal Barriers to Effective HIV Responses

The ESCAP Roadmap to 2015 includes the national reviews and multisectoral consultations on legal and policy barriers to effective HIV prevention, care, treatment and services as contained in commitments made under the 2011 Political Declaration on HIV/AIDS and ESCAP resolutions 66/10 and 67/9.

GA Resolution 65/182: Follow-up to the Second World Assembly on Ageing

Resolution adopted at the 65th session of the United Nations General Assembly, 21 December 2010, New York.

In resolution A/ RES/65/182 General Assembly decided, inter alia, to establish an open-ended working group, open to all States Members of the United Nations, for the purpose of strengthening the protection of the human rights of older persons.

GA Resolution 67/139: Towards a comprehensive and integral international legal instrument to promote and protect the rights and dignity of older persons

Resolution adopted at the 67th session of the United Nations General Assembly, 20 December 2012, New York.

In resolution A/ RES/67/139 General Assembly decided that the Open-ended Working Group on Ageing shall consider proposals for an international legal instrument to promote and protect the rights and dignity of older persons.

HRC Resolution 24/20: The human rights of older persons

Resolution adopted at the 24th session of the United Nations Human Rights Council, 27 September 2013, Geneva.

In resolution A/HRC/RES/24/20 the Human Rights Council decided to appoint, for a period of three years, an Independent Expert on the enjoyment of all human rights by older persons.
