Incheon Strategy to “Make the Right Real” for Persons with Disabilities in Asia and the Pacific
ESCAP regional survey on the availability of national baseline data for the Incheon Strategy to “Make the Right Real” for Persons with Disabilities in Asia and the Pacific
In pursuance of the Ministerial Declaration and the Incheon Strategy, the national Governments in the Asia-Pacific region are requested to establish baseline data by 2017 and the ESCAP secretariat is mandated to report to the Commission triennially until the end of the Decade on the progress in the implementation of the present Declaration and Strategy.
The regional survey on the availability of national baseline data for the Incheon Strategy is being conducted to:
a. Take stock of the availability of national data for the Incheon Strategy;
b. Build an ESCAP baseline database that will be used for identifying gaps and tracking progress in the implementation of the Incheon Strategy as well as for future reporting; and
c. Design a regional capacity-building programme to assist national statistical offices, line ministries and the disability communities in producing the indicators.
Only one questionnaire should be filled out by each country. This would involve collaborative efforts by national disability focal points, national statistical offices, line ministries or other concerned agencies.
The completed questionnaire in electronic format should be returned by email by 30 June 2013 to:
